Help me bring love to animals in need
Held by Charlotte Ellice
West Vancouver
My passion for animals started at an early age, I grew up with a number of family pets (at one time 5 black cats), as a young child rescued and brought home stray cats & kittens, then adopted my first shelter dog called "Jesse" when I was only 17yrs old (he lived well into his senior years). In my early 20's I worked full time, studied part time in the field of animal welfare and volunteered at our local RSPCA in New Zealand. My experience, and dedication to animals led me to my dream job of working at the BC SPCA.
I have been employed with the BC SPCA since 2007 and I will be celebrating my 15th year in November with an amazing organization that I trust and believe in. During my employment, I have adopted, fostered and worked in almost every job that was available to me. Our current companions are Jag whose a 15yr old black cat & Jackie, a 3yr old Rottweiler x Aussie Shepherd, they share our house with three children who adore them. As a manager for the West Vancouver Community Animal Shelter, I strive to make change in the lives of animals and within my community. With one paw at a time, we can all make a difference to the lives of animals.
The pandemic has brought many changes to everyday life, but one thing remains the same there are still animals out there who desperately need us. That's why we are committed to being there for vulnerable animals by taking part in Lock-In for Love.
