These kittens are the surviving members of a litter whose mother, due to a severe trauma, rejected them when they were merely 1 day old. Without a mum at such a young age, these helpless babies were at extreme risk.
Luckily, they were quickly brought into the care of the BC SPCA. These weak newborns needed around the clock care, feeding, and twice-weekly visits to a veterinarian. None of the kittens were thriving right away. Hour to hour monitoring and constant care was the only way to ensure these little babies pulled through, so that’s exactly what they got.
Now that they are 7 weeks old, little Pumpernickel, Naan and Ciabatta still have a long way to go in their development, but they now have more strength every day. Their health is looking very promising, and the kittens have weaned from their formula and are now enjoying many scrumptious meals together.
Your donation today will help cover medical expenses, kitten formula, supplies, and more for the next litter of kittens or puppies that arrives at a BC SPCA branch.
