Help this stray kitten breathe freely
Supporting Areas of Greatest Need
Held by BC SPCA
This courageous stray kitten is fighting for his future, but he can't do it alone. Tiny Boston Rob's own body is turning against him, slowly stealing his breath.
At just 7-weeks old, he has already overcome so much. Somehow, he survived alone in a park, battling the elements and evading local wildlife all on his own. When his kind rescuer found him, Boston Rob was cold and clinging to life. He was hypothermic, severely underweight, and couldn't even hold his head upright, tilting it to the side. A few more hours, and he might not have made it.
In care, as Boston Rob warmed up the head tilt disappeared, but something more serious emerged. His breath was shallow and wheezy. X-rays revealed the cause: a genetic condition where his breastbone was growing inward towards his spine. His own body would slowly but inevitably steal the breath from his lungs.
Boston Rob has his whole life ahead of him, and we're committed to giving him that chance to explore, play, grow and love. He will need a special surgery to place a splint on his chest. It will help guide his sternum to grow outward - giving his lungs space to expand.
Boston Rob's time as a stray was difficult, you could practically cup him in your hand! But his spirit is anything but small. This boy loves to play, and explores his surroundings with an exceptional fearlessness.
You can give him the gift of breathing freely. Will you help this tiny kitten today?
